The Heart (and Snout) Of It All
Hi, I’m Brittany — dog mom, snout enthusiast, and doting sitter for pups who need a little extra TLC.
My journey into dog sitting started with Zora, my sweet and speckled rescue with complex medical needs. First was her catastrophic IVDD diagnosis -- one that had her waking up from a nap with paralysis of her back legs, requiring an emergency spinal surgery, followed by teaching her to walk again, extensive physical therapy and a subsequent lifestyle change. Later came her Addisonian crisis -- a severe, sudden medical emergency caused by a sudden drop in steroid hormones, typically cortisol, due to Addison's disease. This diagnosis put her within hours of losing her life, though we are now managing this disease with daily, oral medication and monthly hormone injections she will need for the rest of her life.
Needless to say, Zora has been my teacher in patience, presence, and how deeply dogs communicate when we take the time to listen. Loving her through every high and low made me realize just how many pet parents need a sitter who truly understands special care.
That realization led me to dogsitting, where I’ve spent over two years caring for dogs (and other pets!) of all kinds — from brand new puppies through end-of-life seniors, the endlessly-energetic and crippling anxious, the healthy and the healing. I’ve worked with severely-anxious pups, post-surgery recovery dogs, and senior dogs who need a gentler hand. I specialize in routines, medical management, and giving each dog the calm, loving presence they deserve when their humans are away. I love being a constant for dogs — whether seeing them daily for check-ins or walks —or serving as a familiar, friendly face when families travel and leave their fur babies at home.
Now, I’ve shifted into nearly-full-time dog sitting because it’s not just work — it’s heart work. It’s meaningful. It matters. And I’m honored every time a family trusts me with their dog’s care. Whether it’s a weekend drop-in, a long-term stay, or just a much-needed walk, I treat every visit like it’s with Zora — with intention, comfort, and genuine love.
