Why I’m All for Dog Cameras (And Why a Good Sitter Should Be, Too)

Let me start by saying this: If you’re a dog parent with cameras in your home, I love that for you… and for your dog.

I’ve had a few clients kindly let me know they have cameras in place, just in case I ever need to know. And every time, it’s the same conversation:

Them: It’s really just to keep an eye on Luna when no one’s around!

And honestly? I completely get it. It’s not awkward. It’s not weird. And it’s definitely not something to apologize for.

In fact, I encourage it.

We’ve had cameras in our own home since bringing Zora into our lives. Especially during her early health challenges, they offered peace of mind I wouldn’t trade for anything. Being able to check in, make sure she was safe, and just see her cozy in her space helped ease the daily “pet parent worry” that so many of us know well.

And when I’m caring for your dog, that same peace of mind should extend to you.

I’m always going to assume there are cameras present. Maybe more importantly for you, it wouldn’t change a single thing about how I care for your pup. Whether I’m on camera or not, my focus is the same: comfort, safety, and consistency for your dog, and trust and communication for you.

There are plenty of reasons cameras can be helpful beyond checking in while I’m away. Some parents love to see how their dog interacts with a sitter for the first time. Others like to peek in on playtime or ensure their dog’s routine is being followed. Most of you may just want a birdseye view of what your dog does when you aren’t there — I mean, who knows, right? Whatever the reason, they’re each valud and I’m here for it.

Bottom line? I’m not just okay with cameras, I’m a fan.

If you’re looking for someone who understands just how much peace of mind matters, I’d love to connect. Head to my interest form to get started — I hope to connect soon!
